Suggested books for Toddlers

All parents these days emphasize on reading to their kids starting early on. Reading to babies have a lot of benefits like helping them build their imagination, building linguistic & speech skills, improve their communication skills, form a bond with the reader, develop a more logical thinking, enhanced knowledge & of course HAVE FUN!

So, here is a list of some books that will make your kids fall in love with books & reading early in life.

 

  1. The Very Hungry Caterpillar

 

This beautifully illustrated book helps kids learn & recognize fruits, few elements of nature, days of the week etc. Because of the beautiful illustrations & story, kids love this book.

  1. Goodnight Moon

 

The poetic story follows a little rabbit preparing for bed as he says goodnight to everything in his room, and the world outside his window.

  1. Close your eyes

 

A book about a mother tiger who encourages her restless cub to settle down to sleep by describing the dreams he may have, reassuring him that she’ll be there when he wakes, and that “Dark is just the other side of light. It’s a beautiful book to generate a bong & trust between child & parent.

  1. Guess how much I love you

 

A young bunny and his dad sweetly try to one-up each other with how big their love for the other is in this sweet tale, illustrated with gorgeous watercolors. It’s a lovely tale of unconditional love, perfect for the babe you love “all the way to the moon—and back.

  1. Dear Zoo

 

A classic lift-the-flap book, the story begins with a child’s letter to the zoo, requesting a pet. A series of animals arrive—under flaps to be uncovered by the reader—and are discovered to be not quite right (too heavy, too scary, too naughty), until at long last, the perfect pet appears.

  1. Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?

 

This beautifully bold illustrations book is full of rhyming words thus helps kids to enjoy as well as learn at same time. The format of the book is based on QnA, thus generating interest in kids who are listening or reading the book.

  1. Runaway Bunny

 

This wonderful book that focuses on a mother-child relationship is a story of a bunny & his mother in conversation when little bunny tells his mamma that he plans to run away & how they engage in pretend play to change bunny’s mind. It’s an all-time favorite book for mothers as well as kids.

  8. All are amazing books for young toddlers.The Hungry caterpillar, Good Night, Moom, Dear Zoo are our all time favorite. Try Good Night Tractor as well if your kids love Goodnight Moon, they will enjoy it too.

  14. We have read the hungry caterpillar, I still remember the ‘chomp-chomp’ sounds daughter used to make while reading it. Lovely list.
