Oriflame Baby Care Range – Product Review

I still feel like it was yesterday when a neighborhood aunt of mine became a member of Oriflame cosmetics and handed my mom a colorful catalog which was indeed quite a temptation. I was in my teens then and was quite excited about almost everything in there. I remember my first lip-gloss that I bought from Oriflame.

So, off late (I think about 6 months back) I was approached by a friend of mine who works in Oriflame cosmetics to try out the new baby care range the company had, among other things which I would review & talk about in my future articles. I must admit that I have been very happy yet a bit nervous as I’m very particular about whatever touches my baby’s skin. The friend of mine recommended me to buy a few things to begin with. My boy is 27 months old now and we started this when he was around 20-21 months old. I bought the new Oriflame baby cream, hair and body wash, baby soap, and toothpaste.

I didn’t get a chance to buy the baby oil and powder as it was out of stock back then. Maybe I will get it later someday to use and review.

About Oriflame

Oriflame is a Swedish company, making natural and innovative beauty and personal care products. It is based on door to door selling model. So, in case you need to buy something you have to find a consultant selling the products. You can visit their website to know more about their products HERE (Click for a direct link to the website)

About the range

This is definitely one of my favorite bath and baby skin care product and to my surprise the products are easy on pocket & affordable.

I bought baby hair and body wash, baby cream, baby soap, and strawberry flavor toothpaste. Before using, I wanted to read reviews & thus I tried to look up for reviews but to my surprise, I couldn’t find any reviews on their baby range. Thus after using the products, I decided to be the first one to write a review blog about the products.

Baby cream

The baby cream packaging is a nice white and pink tube. I loved it so much that I use it on myself as well. It makes your skin baby soft, smooth without making it go oily. It is pediatrician approved, tear free, dermatology and allergy tested, and it doesn’t irritate my skin on the application unlike few other baby products I tried so far. I always use any product first on myself than on my baby.

The tube comes in a pack of 150 grams and I got this for 300/- after discount (MRP Rs. 349/-). It has a shelf life of four years although I’m pretty sure it will not last that much as I too use it 😉 .

A rich, smooth cream, which works for long and is not so greasy, I’m actually in love with it already. Needless to say, I already bought a second tube which shall be put to use soon enough.

Hair and body wash

A great product which is no tears formula and tested for allergies. And I know it is not chemical free, but is still much better than most of the well-known brands claiming to be ‘tear free’. The bottle comes in the packaging of 300 ml with a pump nozzle which I found to be very practical for bath time fun. It has no fragrance, nice and fresh. I think it is the cotton extracts which makes it smell so.

Nonetheless, it is a great product. Priced at Rs. 499/- I think it is a bit expensive but yes sometimes you get some offers & discounts. Also, you need a very little amount so the product lasts well, which justifies the price. It’s travel-friendly as you can close down the knob.

Baby soap

This is another product which the consultant offered me for free (yayy and a happy dance). It is also gentle on skin and is pediatrician approved. No fragrance.

Strawberry flavor toothpaste

This is one of the surprise things when it comes to the price. The 50 gram tube comes for Rs.99/- only which is quite reasonable. My son loved the flavor and easily brushes his teeth with it every morning. It is a fluoride-based toothpaste (with a pediatrician approved range) and is recommended for the babies in the age group of 2 to 6 years.

So, what are the things which I liked about the products:

  • The skin care range has a lovely smell. It’s so baby like..and yes, there is no perfume used in the entire range.
  • Organic cotton has been used as the main ingredient in the product.
  • It is pediatrician approved, tested against allergies, makes your skin soft, fresh and radiant.
  • Travel-friendly size.
  • Easy to apply and spreads evenly.
  • My skin is on the sensitive side, and sometimes it gets very dry, so this product worked well in my case. And I’m equally happy to use it on my son.
  • The toothpaste is nice strawberry flavored one and my sons love to brush his teeth with it.

Things which I didn’t like

  • It has chemical ingredients. I still went ahead with it as it is approved by doctors & pediatricians. But everyone will have their own take on this.

The Rating

I would rate the products a 4.5 / 5 as each and every product is nice and beautiful, and cost effective as well. Definitely going to use this with my son and looking forward to more such products.

i know a lot of products have some sort of medically approved chemical these days. i guess,it is ok, if it tested and certified. looks really good for kids too.

    • Thank you veens.. yes the products are good and value for money. The only part which I didn’t liked and can also be overlooked as you pointed out is the chemicals used. However there are hardly any chemical free products that we actually get these days. Thanks again
