On the banks of Pushkar Ghat!

She was going through her Instagram feed when she saw a picture of some camels beautifully decorated with fabric & jewelry. She was fascinated by the beautiful picture thus opened it. Reading through the description she realized these pictures were taken during Pushkar Mela. She felt a sudden rush of emotions and was immediately transported back in time. Back to the time when she had last visited Pushkar.

Pushkar had always been her favorite place on earth. No matter how many new & beautiful places she visited, Pushkar always remained her go to destination when she wanted to feel herself.  It had been a while since they had been trying to conceive, but there was no sign of success for a long long time. Her doctor had told her during last cycle of treatment, “If after this cycle of IUI you do not conceive, let us take a 2 month break & then move to the next step – IVF. I wound not want you to emotionally exhaust yourself & land up in depression.” She still had 3 days left before she was suppose to take a home test, and her anxiety was killing her thus she decided to take a Pushkar trip.

She was a very optimistic person in life, but for the first time it felt like she is loosing hope. She felt a tempest inside her as well as a soothing calm at the same time. She was confused, her emotions were confused. She was just sitting there looking at people on the ghat & kites flying in the sky & the kids jumping & swimming in the water. Her face was emotionless but she had tears flowing down her cheeks. She was waiting for the universe to listen to her plea and answer her karma. She was doing everything right to make things work in her favor, then why was there no trace of success yet? She told herself, “Next time I come here, I want a little one in my arms. I want to share the memories of this beautiful place that I love so much with my child.”

The tempest was still not calmed, but she felt a kind of relief sharing her emotions with the city she loved so much. She came back home 3 days later & took a home pregnancy test next morning. And there they were – those 2 faint lines that indicated the storm of happiness soon to arrive in her life!!

She came back to present from the memories, opened her laptop & started looking for hotel bookings & train tickets to plan her next Pushkar visit – with her kids this time!!
